Requalification of the public spaces in the entrance of the village and in the main threshing-floor

Estes são espaços de grande simbolismo e representatividade para a comunidade, nomeadamente o espaço de entrada na aldeia onde se localiza um cruzeiro, ao qual é atribuído elevado valor espiritual por parte dos habitantes. A eira por sua vez tem um forte valor identitário e de pertença e expressão da coletividade, devido a ser um espaço de todos onde o trabalho se realizava por todos.
Ambos estes espaços necessitam de qualificação, em particular no que respeita à pavimentação e acessibilidades.
Overview:
These are places of great symbolism and meaning to the local community, special the entrance in the village were a stone cross with high spiritual value to the inhabitants is located. The threshing-floor is a repository of identity meaning and sense of community belonging, as a place of collective activity and shared property. Both spaces need qualification, namely in terms of accessibilities and paving.
Instalação de equipamentos públicos e mobiliário / Installation of facilities
Descrição:
Esta intervenção cumpre um papel fundamental, não só por dotar o povoado de novas valências e melhorar as existentes, como pela localização num espaço que se assume como o “cartão de visita” da aldeia.
Pretende-se neste âmbito reabilitar um tanque existente, em uso pela comunidade, equipar o espaço com sanitários públicos, qualificar as caixas de correio e a área de depósito de resíduos e dotar o espaço público com bancos nas zonas de estar e sinalética adequada.
Overview:
This intervention fulfills an important role because it will install new facilities and qualify some of the existing ones, giving a new “face” to the village’s “visiting card” – its entrance. The existing tank will receive a new protecting envelop, the mail boxes and the waste containers will be requalified, a public w.c. will be provided and the public space will be equipped with seating areas and appropriate signposting.

Moinho de água / Water Mill
Descrição:
O edifício consiste num pequeno moinho de milho movido a água, que ainda preserva todas as peças e funcionalidade. É o moinho que se localiza mais próximo do perímetro da aldeia, tendo por tal uma importante utilização para a comunidade. Necessita essencialmente de trabalhos de limpeza, conservação e restauro.
Overview:
This is a small water mill that still has all its parts and functionality. It’s the closest mill that the village as, so it has an important role for everyday living. The needs are manly of conservation and restoration of the building and machinery.
Espigueiros / Granaries
Descrição:
Os espigueiros desempenham ainda hoje um papel importante na aldeia, uma vez que é nestes que uma grande parte dos cerais da aldeia são armazenados. Para além da sua funcionalidade, os espigueiros desempenham também um papel importante na imagem e identidade da aldeia e são parte integrante do seu património arquitetónico.
As intervenções a desenvolver ocorrerão em seis espigueiros e são de grau variável, tendo em conta o seu estado de conservação atual, indo desde a conservação e restauro à reconstrução integral nos casos em que já se encontram em ruína.
Overview:
The granaries have until today an important role in the village, because it’s were a large part of the cereals are stored and because of their impact in the image and identity of the village – they are truly part of its architectural heritage.
The interventions will include six granaries, and have different degrees relating to the conservation state of each granary – in some cases the needs are only of conservation and restoration and in others include the full reconstruction of the upper parts.
Forja / Smithy
Descrição:
Este é um espaço muito particular e que preserva ainda o fole e o forno bem como inúmeras peças e ferramentas de trabalho do ferro. Segundo os habitantes locais, a forja já não é usada há meio século, e tanto o edifício como os elementos móveis encontram-se em mau estado de conservação.
A intervenção a desenvolver tem como objetivo geral a conservação e restauro deste espaço, bem como do engenho e elementos móveis a ele ligados. Pretende-se ainda a reposição da antiga cobertura em colmo que foi substituída há alguns anos por telha de marselha.
Overview:
This is a very peculiar smithy and it preserves still all the functional elements and several tools related with the iron forge. The local villagers say that the smithy stopped being used half a century ago, and now the building and mobile elements are in bad condition.
The intervention aims the conservation and restoration the building and all its mobile elements, and the removal of the recent ceramic roofing and its replacement by a thatched roof as it was originally.
Habitação / Housing
Casa do Sr. Américo / Sr. Américo's House
Descrição:
A presente intervenção centra-se na melhoria das condições de habitabilidade de um fogo, em que habita o Sr. Américo e a sua esposa, e que não possui infraestruturas básicas como instalações sanitárias, saneamento e água corrente no interior.
A intervenção visará principalmente a conservação do existente, a reorganização do espaço interior, a melhoria das condições de iluminação e a provisão de uma pequena cozinha, instalação sanitária, saneamento e água corrente.
Overview:
This intervention is about providing a house without basic infrastructures (water, sewage, wc), were Sr. Américo and his wife live, with the adequate living conditions.
The works will encompass the conservation of the existent parts, the reorganization of the space, the improvement of the lighting, the installation of a small kitchen, wc, and infrastructures (water and sewage).
Cozinha do Sr. Manuel e da D. Rosa / Sr. Manuel and D. Rosa's Kitchen
Descrição:
O espaço a intervir é uma antiga cozinha, espaço que se tem perpetuado em funcionamento ao longo dos anos, e que, tal como o casal que o habita, remete-nos para a vida de outros tempos. Neste espaço pretende-se colocar uma pequena instalação sanitária, compartimento que irá melhorar substancialmente a qualidade de vida do casal, dado que atualmente não possuem esta infraestrutura básica nem saneamento.
Overview:
This space is an old kitchen that has been in operation over the years, and that, as the couple that inhabits, leads your imagination to a life lived in an era almost lost in time. In this space the aim is to put a small w.c, which will substantially improve the quality of life of the couple, as they never had this basic infrastructure.
Casa / Atelier da Cristina / Cristina's House / Atelier

Esta é uma obra que visa a refuncionalização de três antigos currais numa habitação/atelier de trabalho para uma habitante da aldeia que é a única que atualmente desenvolve uma atividade fora do primário (artesanato para venda). Esta é ainda uma das poucas jovens da aldeia, e o seu alojamento atual não tem as condições mínimas de habitabilidade, privacidade e salubridade.
Será realizada uma profunda reabilitação destes três curráis, de modo a conferir-lhes condições de segurança e habitabilidade adequados a uma habitação e local de trabalho para uma jovem nos dias de hoje. Será também necessário dotar o conjunto de edifícios de infraestruturas básicas como saneamento, eletricidade e água canalizada.
Overview:
This is an intervention that aims to transform three stockyards in a house/atelier for a young woman that currently is the only person that has an activity outside the primary sector in the village (crafts work). She is one of the few young people of the village and her living conditions do not have the minimal living standards, particularly in terms of health and privacy.
It will be needed a profound rehabilitation of the tree stockyards so that they can have the adequate living and work conditions for a young woman living in the 21st century. It will also be necessary to provide the constructions with the basic infrastructures, as water, electricity, w.c., and sewage.
Atividades Económicas / Economic activities
Queijaria / Cheese Factory
Descrição:
Os três edifícios a intervir são construções rurais, que foram construídas como finalidade de alojamento para animais, para armazenar palha e utensílios utilizados na agricultura e na pastorícia.
A implantação da queijaria artesanal neste espaço, mediante obras de profunda reabilitação, vai permitir a reabilitação e reutilização destes edifícios que se encontram em mau estado de conservação e dar um forte impulso ao desenvolvimento local, com a criação de cinco postos de trabalho. A intervenção será assim uma mais-valia para a economia local e para promover o enraizamento populacional e o dinamismo socioeconómico da região.
Overview:
The three buildings to intervene are rural buildings, which were built for sheltering animals and storing straw and utensils used in agriculture and cattle grazing.
The installation of an artisanal cheese factory in this space, through deep rehabilitation works, will allow the rehabilitation and reuse of these buildings, which are in poor condition, and give a strong push to local development, with the creation of five jobs. The intervention is an asset to the local economy and to promote the fixation of population and the socio-economic dynamism of the region.
Casa do Forno / Oven House
Descrição:
O espaço a reabilitar era o local quadrangular com um grande forno, onde se preparava pão, bolas, e as broas. Atualmente o forno encontra-se descativado, sendo utilizado agora como um local de arrumos.
O edifício encontra-se em estado geral razoável, apresentado no entanto alguns problemas resultantes do “abandono” e ausência de manutenção. A intervenção tem como objetivo geral a conservação e reabilitação do edifício e a reativação do forno e da atividade de padaria tradicional para fornecimento local e venda às aldeias circundantes.
Overview:
The building to intervene is a quadrangular space with a large oven, where different types of traditional bread were prepared. Currently the oven in lo longer in active, and the building is being used as a place of storage.
The building as a medium overall condition, but it has some problems due to the abandonment and lack of maintenance. The intervention aims the conservation and rehabilitation of the building and the reactivation of the oven and of the activity of traditional bakery, for local consumption and to commercialize in the surrounding villages
